REMINDER!!

Between November 1st and March 31st, it is unlawful to park a trailer, boat, camper, or other recreational vehicle on a public street.  A construction trailer may be allowed only after obtaining a written permit from the City Office and must be marked with reflective tape, cones or barricades supplied by the owner so they are visible at night and shall be moved immediately in the event of a snowstorm to allow for snow removal.

POLICE OFFICER POSITION

The Ord Police Department is seeking applications for Police Officer. Minimum requirements: applicant must be at least 21 years of age, a US Citizen, have no felony convictions, possess a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid operator’s license, and be of good moral character as determined by a thorough
background investigation. Certification is preferred, but we are willing to train the right person. Non-certified applicants will be required to have successfully completed the T.A.B.E. test and provide a copy of the results with their application. If selected, an uncertified officer must qualify for and complete
basic law enforcement certification at the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center as required by State Statute. The City of Ord offers competitive wages, uniforms and equipment, take home patrol
vehicle, paid family health insurance and a City contribution into an HSA, employer paid life insurance and long-term disability, 7% city contribution to retirement plan, employee paid vision, dental and short-term disability, 13 paid holidays, 96 hours of sick leave per year, and 96 hours of vacation per year, membership to the local fitness center and gun range, and family school activity pass. The position will remain open until filled.
